Subject: Stanley Green
Hi,
I was just thinking about him tonight as someone on an
internet forum reminded
me of him.
First time he "got" me, he was slightly off his
route down in Piccadilly
Circus. I had seen him around before, but this was my turn. "You
are no
virgin young man," he growled at me. I was a bit annoyed
because I was.
Shows you what he knew. God bless him. I really looked
forward to seeing him
when I was in London.
I did a search on Stanley Green and Protein and found your site on Google.
I have his booklet as well, fantastic typography and makes
Tolkein read like Dr
Seuss.
Some ad practitioners industry body used a pic of him walking
down Oxford
Street in an ad that ran in Campaign in the late 80's. Red or
Dead made a
t-shirt from the front and back cover of his book in the early
90's.
The other one I have to check is Julian Temple's crapfest
that was "Absolute
Beginners." I am pretty sure that there is a character meant
to be him outside
the coffee shop window when Patsy Kensit finishes singing "Having
It All." I
need to dig out the video and check. Sadly, it would probably
be a decade to
early to actually be true.
Thanks for the web page on him. Definitely someone who deserves a web presence.
