I'm fortunate enough to have an antique shop at the
end of my street that does a nice line in ephemera of various
kinds. A couple of months back, they turned up a plastic bag full
of recipe leaflets from the late 1950s and early 1960s, on which
I duly wasted all of three quid. As with the pamphlets immortalised
at the Gallery of Regrettable Food, almost all the leaflets were
produced in association with some manufacturer or other - Atora
Suet, Smith's Crisps, Chivers Jams, Sainsbury's. I'll save the
sarcasm for the pages themselves, so click on!
